The luxury car in the age of the electric motor It is quite a challenge for luxury firms, since the differentiation between cars no longer resides in the mechanics. So that, Rolls-Royce today presents us with its particular vision of how the luxury electric car should be understood. Under the name of Rolls-Royce Specterthe English manufacturer has created an imposing coupé that boasts of offering the most refined driving on the market.
When we take away from a luxury brand the exclusivity of having a V12 under its front hood, we are undoubtedly talking about a great loss. And it is for this reason that the development of the Specter has been carried out with special care by Rolls-Royce, since not only intends to represent the future of the brand, but the new way of understanding the luxury carthat new concept that will allow us to continue talking about cars whose driving continues to be just as exclusive and distinguished.
The Rolls-Royce Specter will be positioned in price between the Cullinan and Phantom models
To bring this idea to life, Rolls-Royce has created a massive coupé that perfectly embodies the GT spirit. We talk about a car 5,453 mm long2,080 mm wide and 1,559 mm high, which also offers 4 real seats thanks to a great habitability as a result of the existing 3,210 mm wheelbase. This Specter clearly succeeds the Wraith, inheriting his philosophy, but adapting it to the new times.
Aesthetically, the Rolls-Royce Specter shows continuity with respect to the stylistic line of the brand. We are before a design that shows a better aerodynamic work in pursuit of efficiency, but maintaining clear ties with the Ghost as the manufacturer’s last major release. This work at the aerodynamic level has made it possible to achieve a Cx of 0.25, which is a milestone for the brand since it has forced it to redesign aspects such as the winged emblem that crowns the imposing front grille, the front itself, the rims in size 23″ or the silhouette until its culmination in the rear.
For the preparation of the interior, Rolls-Royce once again resorts to a combination of classicism and technology, bringing to life a cabin where the quality of materials, space and comfort prevail. Of course, the customization of even the smallest detail is once again the absolute protagonist, also having possibilities as striking as the use of 4,796 LEDs inside to emulate a starry sky around us.
The first Rolls-Royce Specter will be delivered to customers during the fourth quarter of 2023
From a technical point of view, the Specter has been built on a new specific aluminum platform, however despite this the final weight of the set reaches an exaggerated 2,975 Kg, of which 700 Kg correspond to batteries with 100 kWh capacity. For the propulsion system, a scheme of double electric motor with 585 hp and 900 Nmwhich makes it possible to do 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and achieve a WLTP autonomy of 520 km.
