Over 30 Cars Got Flat Tires In California From Road Debris

What’s the worst thing that could happen on your morning commute? Accident? Traffic jam? Low fuel? Late? Apparently, it will be a flat tire for more than 30 commuters on California’s highways – all at the same time.

As reported by Eyewitness News, the vehicle is seen stopping along the 405 Freeway near Mulholland Drive in LA. All of them got a flat tire, with at least 36 vehicles on the roadside probably putting out their parts (or their tire repair kit). No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred because “a box of nails or some logs may have fallen from the truck.” Officials believe that it did not appear intentional. However, some people in the comments section of the video think otherwise.

One comment allegedly came from a former tire technician, who recalled when his boss ordered him to take some nails and throw them out the window. He then warns people that there are a lot of crooked businesses out there.

Other comments mention that construction sites often have nails and screws in the road, which should constitute a similar form of hazard to road users. One person also said that it could be fatal, which we totally agree with.

Whether this incident was intentional or not is up to the California Highway Patrol to find out. Needless to say, let this serve as a reminder that road users should always be on the lookout for debris as it has the potential to harm cars and their passengers – even worse for motorcycles. At highway speeds, the resulting collision can be fatal, which makes the above incident criminal if proven intentional.
