Jaguar Will Review EV Plans This Spring, First New Models Coming 2025

We’ll get an early look at Jaguar’s electric future later this year. The revamp won’t see a new production model until the middle of the decade, but a preview of the EV’s rebirth will be given this spring. The information comes from the company’s interim CEO Adrian Mardell, who took up the position in November last year.

Speak to Auto Express regarding Jaguar Land Rover’s improved financial results in the third quarter of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, Mardell said the publication work is already well underway on Jaguar being reborn. The long process of reinventing the brand is known internally as Project Panthera and is currently on track. We’ll get our first glimpse of the new Jaguar brand later this year.

“Our intention to turn Jaguar into a full EV brand remains,” said Mardell Auto Express during the interview. “We already have state-of-the-art models being tested in research in several markets and we will be finalizing the model lineup over the next three to six months. We’ll start sharing that information, perhaps with a sneak preview, later this year. You will see the first Jaguar product in 2025 and then the products after that.”

Meanwhile, Jaguar is looking for a partner as it doesn’t “want to do it all on its own”. Previously, it was reported that Magna would play an important role in the company’s new plans. Jaguar has also announced nVidia and Wolfspeed as partners that will assist the development of a new generation of Jaguar electric vehicles.

We haven’t heard any more details surrounding Jaguar’s revamped product lineup, but we do know the marque can work on a trio of electric SUVs. All three crossovers are expected to be based on the new Jaguar platform currently under development. It will reportedly feature 800 volt architecture, cloud connectivity, and all the necessary technology for advanced semi-autonomous functionality.
