Ferrari puts the finishing touches on a very important new product. It is not destined to be sold to repeat customers as it will represent the Italian automaker in some of the world’s most demanding endurance races. Of course, we’re talking about Ferrari’s new Le Mans Hypercar, which has been spied on just days before its official and full debut.
The video is from 19Bozzy92 active channel Youtube and the description reveals it was taken at the Monza track earlier this month. Unfortunately, the footage doesn’t show the engine in detail, but it’s still great to see it spinning around corners at full speed. More importantly, we get to hear the soundtrack coming from the electric powertrain.

The unnamed Ferrari Le Mans Hypercar has been tested extensively in recent months. Company racing boss Antonello Coletta recently told us sister publication Motorsport.com that the vehicle has traveled more than 6,213 miles (10,000 kilometers) of testing. The LMH reportedly hits the track every 10 days and we expect this grueling testing cycle to continue in the new months.

However, the technical details surrounding the LMH are unknown at this time. There is speculation circulating on the internet that this race car will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine powered by an electric motor. The LMH class rules at the World Endurance Championship require peak output to be limited to 680 horsepower (500 kilowatts) combined, which may mean there must be special onboard electronics that manage power levels.
Ferrari’s new Le Mans Hypercar is scheduled to make its public track debut on October 30 at the 2022 edition of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola. The engine’s racing debut is planned for the WEC season opener at Sebring in mid-March next year when Ferrari will officially return to endurance racing for the first time in 50 years. It will be interesting to see if this new race car will be used as the foundation for the successor to the LaFerrari, which will reportedly hit the market in 2024.
